Custom Diploma Frames in Memphis

You Worked Hard for That Diploma. Don't Let It Sit in a Drawer.

Since 1975, Frame Corner has helped Memphis graduates protect and display their degrees. We build every diploma frame to fit your document, using materials made to preserve it rather than just hold it.

Diplomas, graduate degrees, and academic certificates all get the same care. With over 500 frame and mat options and more than 2,000 moulding samples in our Memphis shop, you get a frame matched to your degree and your wall, not a stock size off a big-box shelf.

Why Frame a Diploma Properly

A diploma is paper, and paper fades, warps, and creases over time with light, humidity, and handling. Many off-the-shelf frames use acidic materials that make it worse.

We use archival and museum-grade materials chosen to prevent that. Preservation guidance, including from the Library of Congress, holds that storing documents with preservation-grade materials protects them from light, humidity, and airborne pollutants and reduces long-term damage. That is the standard we frame to.

Mats That Protect and Present

A mat does two jobs. It holds the diploma off the glass, which prevents sticking and moisture damage, and it gives your degree a clean border.

For diplomas we use acid-free, archival matboard, which neutralizes acids and extends the life of the paper. We offer single, double, and triple mats in a wide range of colors and textures, including Alpha Cellulose, which is acid-free and often buffered, and premium Cotton Rag. A double mat also lets you work in your school colors without giving up any protection.

Which Framing Level a Diploma Needs

We follow the Five Levels of Framing set by the Fine Art Trade Guild, so you know exactly what protection you are paying for.

Most diplomas fit our Preservation (Commended) level: acid-free mats and UV-protective glazing that guard against environmental damage. It is the same level we recommend for family photos and limited-edition prints.

For an older, rare, or especially valuable degree, step up to Conservation or Museum framing. Both use reversible, archival materials and museum-grade glass for the highest level of protection. We will walk you through the levels when you come in.

Glass That Stops Fading

Standard glass offers no UV protection, so for a diploma we point you to:

  • Conservation glass: blocks harmful UV rays with strong clarity, one of the most economical ways to preserve a degree.
  • Museum glass: up to 99% UV filtration, non-reflective, and maximum clarity.
  • Non-reflective glass: cuts glare on walls with strong light.

For larger pieces we also offer shatterproof, lightweight Plexiglass.

Add Your Tassel, Cords, or Medals

If you want to display your regalia with your degree, our custom shadow box framing handles three-dimensional keepsakes and can combine them with your diploma in a single piece.
